Well. Just add about twenty new things that I need to blog about AFTER I finish the Germany trip! hahahah….ha. No, really! Our Disneyland trip was spectacular, (aka add another 1,000+ images to the list), Ashton started Preschool, WE ARE FINALLY doing Ashton’s bedroom, (We just bought his bunk bed today.. TODAY FOLKS.. he’s almost 5! He’s been sleeping on our old queen bed, with a box spring, on the floor.. ghetto! And not much else. It’s bare.. It’s ugly. AND I AM GOING TO BE SO HAPPY when another one of his friends asks to see his room I won’t be cringing inside when Ashton proudly shows them his room) but I also bought, (with a 12 pack of toilet paper) a VERY OLD 1950′s dresser and it needs some (major) TLC. I have no idea on how to restore it. David was/is not pleased with this dresser…… Especially when we have an Ikea so close to us. BUT I LOVE IT and as I said it cost me a 12 pack of toilet paper.. I’d like to see anyone buy a dresser at Ikea for toilet paper.. either way it won’t be a complete loss. I just hope it fits perfectly into his room. We went to the Summer Adventures at Fair Park, (speaking of fair.. did I ever post last years fair pictures.. um that would be a big fat NO! Which inspired me to go through ALL my picture files on the computer drive, seeing what needs to be moved to the external drive and such in case my computer decides to die. It was then I realized I had not finished blogging several other trips and adventures from the last two years ::sigh:: and they are important because I use my blog as a reference when I am designing the life/baby books. Big..Time..Fail). AND I NEED TO MAKE Ashton’s Halloween Costume. And a quilt for his new room… I mean quilt(S) as there are two beds. I’ve never made a quilt before. HOW DO THESE PEOPLE WHO DO IT ALL DO IT ALL!?!?!?! I mean I still haven’t hemmed our curtains! It feels like I have never ending projects. I am beyond stressed but I guess I just have to keep moving forward and be happy with what does get done.
Maybe I just spend too much on social networks. That’s probably it. If I didn’t have a bazillion images to edit I would turn the computer off for a week and see how much I could really get done.
SO.. where was I? Oh Bamberg.. that’s right. Another beautiful city. Very touristy. Lots of cool churches to explore, (Ashton surprisingly loved seeing the churches. He probably liked the idea that there were dead priests buried inside or that you get to light candles, but whatever floats his boat). We ate more German food and ice cream, (HA). Walked around a ton. I did buy some ADORABLE cookie cutters there. Visited the farmers market, bought the sweetest local strawberries, used a public water fountain, (if it wasn’t for the ‘DRINKING WATER’ sign I would have guessed it was just an old fountain they used hundreds of years ago) and Ashton had his first run in with a fake statue. Yeah, that freaked him out royally but us adults laughed our butts off, (included as GIF format to capture all it’s glory). Bamberg also has a strip of very old houses along the river that is called, “Little Venice”. That’s the cliffs notes version anyway. Overall a great time. Again.
and since this post doesn’t have a bazillion images like the others I will include what few pictures I took at my family’s BBQ the following day. Where we ate tons of brats and lots of homemade salads, (all the veggies came from my family’s garden) Mike and David drank their weight in German beer and Ashton raided the raspberry bush… again.
