Happy 33 years to myself!.. Day 22

Ashton picked out my birthday cake and presents, (and the wrapping paper!). I asked David about my card and he said he found the one from last year and was just going to reuse it.. ::snorts:: It was a good birthday despite me still being exhausted and having tummy issues.. I’m sure everyone is sick and tired of me whining about it but I just DON’T understand why I can’t feel better already! Ashton was excited for me.. or maybe for himself.. After singing me Happy Birthday he immediately said, “Okay mama I will help you blow out the candles” and before I could put my camera down they were blown out. ha. Then he “helped” me opened my his gifts. I love this age! I haven’t been able to eat a piece of my cake due to my stomach ache but i’m sure it’s yummy! Btw. we had to redo the candle lighting.. turns out I didn’t have a darn memory card in my camera and I was shooting blanks, (I need to disable that). Awesome for Ashton though.. he LOVES blowing out those candles!

33 things you don’t know about me or don’t care to know..

1.  I envy morning people. I’m a huge night owl. It literally takes me until about 10 or 11am to wake up fully.
2. I hate being cold. Our electricity bill is always high in the winter because I have to have the heater on constantly!
3. I’ve been Best friends with my Best friend over 25 years! we are bosom buddies!
4. When I first met my best friend she was 2 years old. I was six. she called me stranger and refused to come near me for two years, (hiding behind her dad while I played with her older sister)! I still remember the blue pinafore dress she wore all the time.
5. I have never broken a bone. I thank my large strong bones to my German heritage because there have been tons of cases where I should have broken something!
6. I am obsessed with “I LOVE LUCY”. It’s ridiculous!
7. Favorite movie is “Back to the Future Trilogy”
8. I consider my late father my real dad. I’m not his biological child. I was about 9 months old when he took me in. Him and his family treated me as if i were (and still do!). I can’t imagine my childhood without him or them!
9. My ultimate fear is being trapped in a cave, (re: the movie “The Descent”)… or dying in a plane crash.. the fears are pretty equal!
10. I met David online (via AOL messenger) in 1999 when meeting online people was considered lame! He contacted me first.. he sent me this to break the ice.. dork. —-> @)—‘–,—-. Just kidding honey. Though I did ROLL my eyes when it popped up! haha.
11. David asked me out on a date, (we already met in real life by this point and were friends), in a letter that he sent to me while I spent my summer in Germany. My cousin teased me how I was going to bring him home next year and then marry him. I still remember it like it was yesterday. I told her how I was NOT interested in him like that and it would NEVER happen.. guess what.. it did! She must be a psychic!
12. David won’t let me watch the movie ‘The Exorcist’ (directors cut!) because it scares me so bad and I leave all the lights on in the house for a few weeks. He had to install remote controlled lights so I could go to bed and turn them off from the bed.
13. I used to think my favorite color was green. I still love it but I really think my favorite color is white. White is a REAL color? right? anyone?
14. My hair is naturally curly. Strangers are constantly coming up to me asking how I get it so curly.. NOTHING. I DO NOTHING. I get out of the shower.. spray some leave in conditioner and let it dry naturally. I have curls that love to be curls!
15. I spend tooooooooo much time on the internet. I really need to figure out a way to cut back without quitting it completely. Don’t believe me? My mom asked Ashton what he thought his mommy was doing when he was visiting them this past summer.. he responded, “probably working at the computer!!!!”…….. you know it’s bad when your kid notices it!
16. I so badly want to learn how to knit and make a fruit tart.
17. My first car was a white 96′ Ford Escort. I never fully expected to ever get a car. On my 17th birthday my mom showed up with the Escort. SHE WAS SO EXCITED to give me the car! I was in complete shock! The car was practically new! Me and my best friends would cruise Lubbock FOR HOURS!!!! Thinking back it’s kind of lame but man did we have some great memories!.. oh and gas was .98 cents a gallon back then!
18. I LOVE RIDING HORSES!!! I used to ride all the time, (I jumped them). Someday, despite what David say, I will own a horse!
19. I FREAKING LOVE ITALY! Out of all the countries in the world ITALY is my ultimate favorite! I have been blessed to see Venice, Rome, Pisa, Capri, and Florence. I really want to visit Pompeii.
20. I don’t understand “trashy” reality shows or people getting into them as much as they do! Waste of time, I would think people would have better things to do but then again I do stupid stuff where I should be focusing my time on something else.. soooo..
21. I once told another best friend, (the sister of my best best friend) at a sleep over that I was an alien and was going to eat her.. she thought it was a joke but I managed to keep a straight face the entire time and sent her into tears! I still chuckle about it to this day!
22. I have a ton of fun playing with Ashton’s toys.. like WAY too much fun! ha I’m currently adding more to his huge collection of vintage fisher price toys. Good thing he loves it as much as I do. Makes it worth it!
23. Favorite food is Tex Mex.
24. My current favorite board game is ‘The aMAZEing Labyrinth‘. a game introduced to me by one of my favorite cousins in Germany. I literally peed my pants when I saw they were selling them in the states. David doesn’t get it and HE never plays with me. I always have to wait for my mom to visit! Hopefully ashton will be into it as much as I am.. SUCH A FUN GAME!!
25. I start packing my bags at midnight the night before going to Germany. Never fails. It freaks my mom out A LOT. ha. I’ve tried to start packing a week or even a few days in advanced.. I CAN’T DO IT. I have NO idea why!
26. My favorite subject to read about are serial killers.. especially H.H.Holmes. I always wonder what makes them the way they are.
27. I am a starter.. I have a hard time finishing projects I begin. Typically they do get finished but it takes months or even years!
28. I’m lazy about cleaning but very OCD once I start cleaning something up.
29. I wish there was a person you could pay to play with hair. Kind of like a masseuse.. but instead you lay down on a table and they play with your hair. David is good for about 5 mins then he gets sloppy. My mother is the best at playing with my hair but she rarely does it anymore. I’ve even gone so far to train ashton to play with my hair.. sad!
30. I feel bad when someone kills a spider.. I don’t like them on me but I feel like it’s not their fault they exist! Recently I found a Bark Crab Spider in the playroom. I went to get the bug catcher but David freaked out and killed it. I haven’t stopped thinking about that poor spider since. Poor little guy. Lost. Confused.. Scared.. SMOOSH.. /
31. If I could afford it I would go to Disney World every weekend! not kidding!
32. I love astronomy.
